Watch: Breaking barriers and addressing ableism with Ophira Calof on AMI’s The Pulse

By Abiola Agbayewa on Jul 11, 2024 06:13 pm

Disabled Producers Lab co-lead Ophira Calof recently joined host Joeita Gupta for an in-depth conversation on AMI’s The Pulse Podcast.

During this half hour episode, they discussed the role of the storyteller in shifting broader structures to make space for a variety of narratives and experiences. They also spoke about representation and disability narratives, ableism and addressing barriers. Ophira shared information about the Disabled Producers Lab and the goals for Disabled producers beyond the program itself.

The Disabled Producers Lab is a part-time, online program designed as a space for disabled producers marginalized by gender across Canada including, but not limited to, transgender women, cisgender women, transgender men, non-binary people and many other gender identities.

If you would like to learn even more about the program, please watch the Disabled Producers Lab Q+A webinar.

Applications for the program will be accepted until Monday, July 22 at 12 p.m. CT.

If you have questions or would like assistance with your application, please contact peer support coordinator Dennie Park at dp*@ns********.ca.
