CALL FOR ENTRY: LAVCA PE Deal Book & Award

LAVCA GP Member firms are invited to participate in The Latin American Private Equity Deal Book & ESG Cases CALL FOR SUBMISSION. The first and second editions were produced in 2014 and 2015 in response to demand from LPs for specific examples of private equity case studies.

Again this year, LAVCA and EY are partnering on a series of PRIVATE EQUITY DEAL & ESG AWARDS to bring recognition to fund managers with successful deal cases in Latin America. Open exclusively to LAVCA Members, any firm who submits a case study to be published in the Deal Book will automatically be considered for the award.

New Faculty: 2016 LAVCA/Wharton PE Professional Development Program

Fernando Borges, Managing Director and Co-Head of the Carlyle South America Buyout Group, will present original case material on Minority vs. Majority Investments: Terms & Mechanisms to Defend Shareholder Interests at the LAVCA/Wharton Latin American Private Equity Professional Development Program, taking place in Miami, FL on November 14-17, 2016.

Discussion points include:

>> Identify the differences and relative risks of majority vs. minority investments.
>> Develop methods for mitigating the risks that are present in each structure.
>> Create governance structures unique to each circumstance.

Prospective attendees include Vice Presidents, Principals, and Directors from PE firms, as well as professionals from Family Offices, and Institutional Investors. Relevant industry participants seeking to transition careers are also welcome to apply.

Deadline to Participate: Mid-Year Fund Manager Survey

LAVCA is conducting its annual Mid-Year Fund Manager Survey to gather region-level information on Private Equity and Venture Capital activity in Latin America.

Last year, nearly 250 fund managers participated in the survey, which is a key component of LAVCA’s mission to educate investors about the growing PE/VC industry in the region. Results will be published in LAVCA 2016 Mid-Year Data and Analysis, with an in-depth look at fundraising, investments, and exits in Latin America for the first half of the year.
