1831 - At McIlwaine's Bend of the Missouri River, the Prophet Joseph Smith receives the revelation known as Doctrine and Covenants 61 explaining what W. W. Phelps had seen in vision the day before. They continued their journey to Kirtland, Ohio-by land. (History of the Church, 1:203-205).
1841 - About one hundred Sac and Fox Indians visit Nauvoo. The group included Chiefs Keokuk, Kiskuhosh, and Appenoose. The Prophet Joseph taught them the gospel about their fathers in the Book of Mormon during their peaceful visit to Nauvoo. (History of the Church, 4:401-402)
1842 - Still in hiding across the Mississippi River from Nauvoo near Zarahemla, Iowa, it became more apparent to the Prophet Joseph that the entire proceedings of his arrest and trial by Thomas Carlin, governor of Illinois, and others were entirely illegal. To convince the sheriffs and others that the Prophet was not in Nauvoo, William Walker crossed the river to Iowa with the Prophet's horse, "Joe Duncan." (History of the Church, 5:91)
1850 - The first converts to the Church in Denmark are baptized by Elder Erastus Snow in Copenhagen.
1901 - The Japan Mission is organized. It is discontinued in 1924 and reopened in 1948.
1932 - Elder Dallin H. Oaks, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, is born in Provo, Utah.
1991 - The first group of the Church on Gibraltar was organized.
