SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
3 Nephi 18:10-11

"And when the disciples had done this, Jesus said unto them: Blessed are ye for this thing which ye have done, for this is fulfilling my commandments, and this doth witness unto the Father that ye are willing to do that which I have commanded you. And this shall ye always do to those who repent and are baptized in my name; and ye shall do it in remembrance of my blood, which I have shed for you, that ye may witness unto the Father that ye do always remember me. And if ye do always remember me ye shall have my Spirit to be with you."

Joseph F. Smith
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Joseph F. Smith

"It is necessary to partake of the Sacrament, as a witness to him that we do remember him, are willing to keep the commandments he has given us, that we may have his Spirit to be with us always---even to the end, and also that we may continue in the forgiveness of sins" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph F. Smith, p. 101).

LIBRARY: Brother Joseph 1: Chapter 24: Hints of Future Trouble in Missouri

To save their lives, Joseph, Sidney and Newel jumped from the stage. Joseph and Sidney were unhurt, but Newel caught his coat on the stagecoach, and his foot slipped into the rapidly-rotating spokes of the wheel. His leg and foot were badly broken in several places.
