YA Children's LIBRARY: Jacob's Journey: Chapter 1: Spring 1870

The funeral wagon is being driven by Jacob's new friend, Elias Kimball, and his older brother,  Golden Kimball.  They rode in the same carriage three years ago when their own father, Heber C. Kimball,  passed away.  Now it is Jacob's family who have lost their father.

1844 - It is recorded in many testimonial statements and personal histories that during the afternoon meeting, Brigham Young was transfigured and had the appearance and voice of the Prophet Joseph while he was speaking.  The transfiguration was a witness to many that the mantle of Joseph had fallen upon Brigham Young and he was the Lord's choice to lead the Church in the absence of Joseph Smith. (History of the Church, 7:231-242)
