SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Helaman 6:3

"Nevertheless, the people of the church did have great joy because of the conversion of the Lamanites, yea, because of the church of God, which had been established among them. And they did fellowship one with another, and did rejoice one with another, and did have great joy."

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Thomas S. Monson

"There are lives to brighten. There are hearts to touch. There are souls to save. Ours is the sacred privilege to brighten, to touch, and to save those precious souls entrusted to our care. We should do so faithfully and with hearts filled with gladness" ("True Shepherds," Ensign, November 2013).

Library: Times of Turmoil 2: Martial Law: Chapter 10

"She's dying, isn't she?" Nathan cried, and the pastor looked away. "I need to see her."

"Yes, go to her side," a voice said.

Nathan knew that voice, and without hesitation he leapt over the rope that marked the quarantined area and ran toward the cabin he'd seen Marie go into two days earlier.
Pastor Haskell shouted, "Nathan! Don't do it!"

TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY
June 14

To read more events in Church History,

1828 - The Prophet Joseph Smith allows Martin Harris to take the 116-page manuscript translation of the Book of Lehi to show his family in Palmyra.  The manuscript is subsequently lost and replaced in the Book of Mormon with the translation of the small plates of Nephi.
