Stand as a Witness
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Mosiah 18:9

"Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life."

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Gordon B. Hinckley

"Each of you has the responsibility of standing as a witness of the everlasting truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your responsibility is to open the eyes of others 'and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God'" (Nairobi, Kenya, Aug. 4, 2005, "Inspirational Thoughts," Ensign, February 2007).

Rarely was contention found in my home.  My parents taught that contention and anger were wrong, that it showed a lack of respect, civility, and love for Heavenly Father's children.
