SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
2 Nephi 25:26

"And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."

Ezra Taft Benson
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Ezra Taft Benson

"I know the Lord lives. I know that He loves us. I know that apart from Him no one can succeed, but as a partner with Him no one can fail.

"I know that God can make a lot more out of our lives than we can.

"May we all have the moral courage from this moment forward to more fully strive each day to think on Christ, learn of Him, walk in His steps, and do what He would have us do" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Ezra Taft Benson, p. 298).

The two men hit it off quickly, and as Chet pulled a loaf of bread from the oven, there was a knock on the door. Nathan opened it and saw Samuel standing there. He came in and put two manila envelopes on the table, then handed Nathan a bag that held a cell phone, a handgun and two boxes of bullets.

For more events in Church History,

1844 - In an address at the Nauvoo Temple site, the Prophet Joseph Smith teaches the Saint about the work and calling of Elias, Elijah, and the Messiah. He also stated, "I have asked of the Lord concerning His coming: and while asking the Lord, He gave a sign and said, 'In the days of Noah I set a bow in the heavens as a sign and token that in any year that the bow should be seen the Lord would not come; but there should be seed time and harvest during that year: but whenever you see the bow withdrawn, it shall be a token that there shall be famine, pestilence, and great distress among the nations, and that the coming of the Messiah is not far distant" (History of the Church, 6:254).

1946 - Elder Ezra Taft Benson of the Twelve Apostles, arrives in Germany with the European Mission president, to begin their assessment of the status of the Saints in Europe at the end of World War II.
