TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY March 2 For more events in Church History, Click Here! 1829 - About this time, Martin Harris approached the Prophet Joseph concerning the Gold Plates and the work he was doing. Joseph went to the Lord in prayer and received the revelation known as Doctrine and Covenants 5. It confirms the call of Joseph Smith as the Lord's Prophet, talks of three witnesses of the Book of Mormon, and encourages Martin Harris to repent and humble himself and then the Lord will "grant unto him a view of the things which he desires to see." |
