SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Daniel 3:17-18

"If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up."
Howard W. Hunter

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Howard W. Hunter

"A successful life, the good life, the righteous Christian life requires something more than a contribution, though every contribution is valuable. Ultimately it requires commitment-whole-souled, deeply held, eternally cherished commitment to the principles we know to be true in the commandments God has given. . . . If we will be true and faithful to our principles, committed to a life of honesty and integrity, then no king or contest or fiery furnace will be able to compromise us" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Howard W. Hunter, p. 246).

King Benjamin asks us to come to a knowledge of the goodness of God---of his power, wisdom, patience, long suffering, and love--and a knowledge of "the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world" (Mosiah 4:6).  This knowledge then requires of us to "trust in the Lord" and be "diligent in keeping his commandments" in faith unto the end of our lives.
