TODAY IN CHURCH HISTORY
November 15

1845 - The poem, "My Father in Heaven" by Eliza R. Snow is published in the Times and Seasons.  The text of the poem would later be put to music as the hymn "O My Father."  Also, a mob set fire to a stack of straw near Solomon Hancock's barn.  Several brethren ran out to put the fire out.  The mob then fired upon the brethren killing Edmund Durfee.  None of the other brethren were hurt.
