SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Matthew 22:36-40 "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." ARCHIVE |

QUOTE OF THE DAY Joseph F. Smith "It is a comparatively easy thing for a man to say he believes in God and in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, that he believes in repentance of sin, in baptism for the remission of sin, and in the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is apparently easy for a man to progress thus far. But when it comes to loving one's neighbor as oneself, it is not so easy. . . . For few men indeed, or women, even in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, can say truthfully, 'I love my neighbor as I love myself'" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph F. Smith, p. 194-195). ARCHIVE |
