Join Quartex as we celebrate three new digital collections, all launched during lockdown and proving that, with the right technology and support, remote working need not prevent the publication of new or enhanced digitized resources.

Technology has played a leading role in helping the world through the global pandemic, helping us to stay connected with each other and continue working on projects that would otherwise have lain dormant. Using Quartex, our fully hosted platform, our partners have been able to continue cataloging assets and building front-end sites remotely, enabling them to meet their original project timelines and objectives as closely as possible.

Each of the partners we will hear from has a unique experience of launching its site during lockdown:

  • Quartex’s flexibility and ease of use enabled the small team at Des Plaines Public Library to build its site entirely remotely.
  • The site launch for Harris County Public Library was especially timely as a virtual focal point for community engagement during its centenary celebrations.
  • And for Towson University, Quartex was key to fulfilling their commitment to making digitized collections accessible to as wide a demographic of users as possible.

We will hear first-hand what goals these repositories had in view, what unique challenges they faced and how Quartex helped to overcome them, and how they organized and project-managed their site builds to a successful launch. We will also have plenty of opportunity to explore the collections that inspired and motivated them.

We are immensely proud to have helped Des Plaines Public Library, Harris County Public Library and Towson University to launch during lockdown and we look forward to sharing their inspirational stories with you.
