The legal functions of the World Bank Group cordially invite you to attend the Law, Justice and Development (LJD) Week 2017 to be held on November 6-10 at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC. Program —LJD Week 2017 will focus on the overarching theme Gender, Law and Development. Each day throughout the week will center on selected focus areas. • Day 1 & 2 — Gender Days will address the role of law and justice as enabler for a full and equal participation of women and men to development objectives. • Day 3 — IFI Day will feature a session with IFIs General Counsels on gender and development as well as other sessions on gender but also on jurisdictional immunities of international organizations and drivers of corruption. • Day 4 — World Bank Group Day will be devoted to the Cascade on Maximizing Financing for Development, a new WBG approach to the financing of development. It will include an all-day workshop and parallel sessions on selected aspects of WBG operations. Only a few sessions will be open to the public. • Day 5 — Legal Vice Presidency Day will offer training, learning sessions and regional retreats for World Bank Legal Vice Presidency staff. • Digital Media Zone — Complementary to LJD Week 2017, the Digital Media Zone will offer an interactive media hub with shorter sessions highlighting experiences and insights on gender and development.
