#1  Bayer Done with Roundup Settlements

Bayer has asked for a petition for a writ of certiorari with the U.S. Supreme Court and the Supreme Court has asked the Solicitor General to weigh in. A favorable decision for Bayer means it could be exempt from Monsanto’s Roundup lawsuits based on federal regulators' approval of its glyphosate-based herbicide.

Alpharetta, GA A federal whistleblower lawsuit claiming that Dr. Jeffrey Gallups, the owner of Milton Hall Surgical Associates in Georgia, directed his physicians—one of whom blew the whistle-- to order unnecessary tests for their patients to defraud government health programs has reached a $3 million settlement.

#3  Lisinopril Associated with Many Serious Side Effects, Including Angioedema and Liver Damage
Houston, TXLisinopril, used to treat hypertension, congestive heart failure and heart attack, is associated with many side effects including liver damage. Beverly was diagnosed with angioedema (which can be life-threatening) as a direct result of Lisinopril, according to her hospital doctors.

#5  Bronson Healthcare to Settle Excessive Fee ERISA Lawsuit
Kalamazoo, MI Bronson Healthcare and participants in the Bronson Healthcare Group, Inc. 403(b) Tax Sheltered Matching Plan have agreed in principle to settle a proposed class action ERISA lawsuit. The lawsuit focused on the fiduciaries’ decision to include the actively-managed Fidelity Freedom Fund in the plan’s investment portfolio. Details of the proposed settlement have not been disclosed.

#9  United Airlines Pilots and Flight Attendants Seek Summary Judgment in Pay Stub Fight
Los Angeles, CA – On January 12, United Airlines pilots and flight attendants asked the Central District of California to find that the pay statements they received from the airline violate section 226 of the California Labor Code because the statements do not include hourly rates or hours worked and are not easily understandable. Felicia Vidrio v. United Airlines Inc., a class action lawsuit, was dismissed by the same court in 2017. The decision now appears ripe for reconsideration following the Ninth Circuit’s 2021 decision in Ward v. United Airlines.
