#1 Weight Loss Drugmakers Face Stomach Paralysis LawsuitsSanta Clara, CA - A drugmaker’s dream is a patient continuing treatment and forever refilling prescriptions--and that spells profit. Such is the case with the weight loss drugs because discontinuing them leads to regaining lost weight. Ozempic, Mounjaro and Wegovy are star performers, but a drugmaker’s nightmare is the serious side effects that leads to lawsuits, particularly when the manufacturers failed to disclose potential long-term impacts of serious injuries such as gastroparesis.
#2 Delta Slammed with Lawsuit over Personal Cellphone UseLos Angeles, CA - Delta Air Lines employees required to use their personal cell phones and computers for work-related tasks without being reimbursed is a California labor law violation, according to a PAGA complaint filed by an aggrieved employee.

#4 Employee Stock Ownership Lawsuit Unmasks Brazen Corporate FraudRiverside, CA - The allegations made in Gamino v. KPC Healthcare are pretty lurid, especially as ERISA lawsuits go. #5 $155 Million Overtime Settlement Approved for Prison SupervisorsSan Francisco, CA - A $155 million overtime settlement filed by current and retired California prison supervisors has been approved by a San Francisco Superior Court Judge. #6 Zetia and/or Statins: The Good, the Bad and the UglyHalle-Wittenberg, Germany - Can a drug designed to curb heart attacks also cause heart attacks in some people? Apparently, it's possible with statins or medication like Zetia when used in combination with a statin. Statins are designed to lower the "bad" cholesterol thought to be a contributing factor for heart attack and stroke, while leaving the so-called "good" cholesterol to do the good work that good cholesterol, ultimately, does.
#7 Two Popular California Bakeries Slammed with Wage Theft LawsuitsLos Angeles, CA - Two famous bakeries, Firebrand Artisan Breads in the Bay Area, and Sweet Lady Jane in the L.A. area, are both accused of withholding the dough from their employees, and now face California wage theft lawsuits. Filed in Alameda County Superior Court under California’s Private Attorneys General Act, the lawsuit allows employees to seek penalties for labor violations on behalf of themselves and other workers.
#8 Problems with Philips CPAP Replacement MachinesPittsburgh, PA - Nearly two years after Philips Respironics recalled millions of CPAP machines, including ventilators for the sick and dying and DreamStation for sleep apnea patients--including children, consumers are still having problems. A recent investigation has found that the new replacement breathing machines might also be emitting dangerous chemicals. Meanwhile, people who have bought, leased or rented certain Philips sleep apnea machines can now file a claim for restitution--but that may be premature.
#9 Seroquel Side Effects for the ElderlyPearblossom, CA - Seroquel is a neuroleptic indicated for the treatment of bipolar disorder—and like most drugs carries a host of Seroquel side effects, including diabetes, tardive dyskinesia and even birth defects. #10 Attorney Explains Why Lithium Batteries Explode and What You Can DoSanta Clara, CA - Li-ion-powered devices are relatively safe but lithium-ion batteries have become ubiquitous. They are the power source for so many electronic devices, not just smartphones and laptops. They’re in kids’ toys and medical devices, electric cars and e-bikes and even e-cigarettes. Because they have become so common, however, incidents involving lithium-ion battery fires have increased. Attorney Kirk Pope knows first-hand from his clients that these batteries can cause serious burn injuries and even death. Pope McGlamry law firm is focused on holding the manufacturers of lithium-ion batteries and the devices that use them accountable for that harm.
