#1  Tesla Racism Lawsuit Settles for $3.2 million
San Francisco, CA - Tesla and former Black sub-contractor Owen Diaz have finally settled a California labor racial harassment lawsuit. The settlement ends a long-running battle over how much Tesla would pay Diaz after getting one of the largest awards in a U.S. employment discrimination case overturned.

#2  Walmart Wage Statement Lawsuit and $35M Settlement
Los Angeles, CA -  Walmart has agreed to settle for $35 a wage-and-hour class action lawsuit filed in 2017 alleging the retail giant failed to provide accurate wage statements to employees and therefore violated California labor law. In his lawsuit, plaintiff James Evans argued that an inaccurate wage statement is the same as “not providing any wage statement at all.”

#3  Microsoft to Pay $2 Million in Workplace Bullying Case
Austin, TX - Michael Mercieca kept the faith and after seven years finally saw the courts order Microsoft to pay for bullying him to a near breaking point.

#4  Bard PowerPort Bellwether Trial Process on Time
Santa Clara, CA - U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell has said that the Bard PowerPort lawsuit selections will go ahead as scheduled, despite the manufacturer arguing to delay the bellwether process. Judge Campbell is presiding over all Bard PowerPort fracture and migration lawsuits filed in federal courts nationwide.

#5  Seroquel Side Effects for the Elderly
Pearblossom, CA - Seroquel is a neuroleptic indicated for the treatment of bipolar disorder—and like most drugs carries a host of Seroquel side effects, including diabetes, tardive dyskinesia and even birth defects. However, there is a little-known use for Seroquel off-label that concerned the daughter of one Alzheimer's patient for whom she was caring.

#6  Surgeons Warned to Stop Using Synovo Total Hip Implants
Silver Spring, MD - On January 3, 2024, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an updated advisory to medical professionals warning them not to purchase or implant, and to remove from their inventory all Synovo Total Hip Systems because the devices have been substantially modified since their initial 1991 approval. The gathering storm of Synovo hip failure lawsuits is only a part of the larger picture of hip implant litigation that now also involves devices manufactured by Exactech, Smith & Nephew, Stryker, and Zimmer.

#7  Ozempic Babies, Another Side Effect
Santa Clara, CA - Women on birth control or presumed to be infertile have been reporting surprise pregnancies while on Ozempic and similar medications. Referred to as “Ozempic Babies”, they add to increasing concern over the side effects of these diabetes and weight-loss drugs. Healthcare professionals, seeing an association between these medications and unexpected pregnancy on birth control, are warning that these drugs may decrease the effectiveness of oral contraception.

#8  Maryland Orders Employer to Fork Over Missed Contributions to 401k Plan
Baltimore, MD - On February 1, 2022, the District Court of Maryland ordered Bicallis LLC and its owner, Bryan Hill to restore missing contributions to the Bicallis 401(k) Plan. Bicallis was a Baltimore-based logistics, engineering and management support services company with 25 employees. The contributions were owed to the pension plan under the law and the express terms of the plan.

#9  Plaintiff calls for Appeal after Monsanto's Roundup Win in Philadelphia
Philadelphia, PA - After Monsanto's first Roundup trial win in Philadelphia, plaintiff Carl Kline claims that key evidence linking non-Hodgkin's lymphoma to the weed killer containing glyphosate was unable to be presented during the trial and he has appealed the ruling. A new Monsanto Roundup trial has been ordered.

#10  Johnson & Johnson Strikes Back
Trenton, NJ - On March 27, District Court Judge Michael Shipp issued a brief order that permits J&J to contest scientific evidence linking talc products to ovarian cancer. The ruling could seriously disrupt the 53,796 talcum powder lawsuits that have been consolidated in the District Court for the District of New Jersey. The order cites recent changes in the law and new scientific evidence. The changes in law – specifically the federal rules governing expert witnesses -- may have a significant impact on class action lawsuits in general.
