Lawmakers to weigh competing Supreme Court redistricting maps

BY JESSICA WILLIAMS | Capitol News Bureau Editor

More Supreme Court maps?: A proposed change to the Supreme Court's map is likely to face competing proposals during next week’s special legislative session, including one plan that would increase the number of justices from seven to nine, Meghan Friedmann reports.

Summer meals: Louisiana is one of 15 states that hasn't opted in to a new summer food program designed to help feed millions of students when school is out of session, Emily Woodruff reports. But Gov. Jeff Landry still has time to join the program.

Johnson vs. the House: U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, of Benton, is facing pushback from fellow Republicans over the spending deal he struck with Democrats. The uproar showcases deep divisions within the Republican Party that have persisted under Johnson's leadership.
