| | As President and Editor in Chief of The Chronicle, I think about leadership a lot. What does it take to be a leader? Who is a leader? Is it the person who has the answers or the one who asks the right questions? The blue-sky thinker or the detail-oriented project manager?
I am certain of one thing, though: Leadership happens everywhere — on every campus, in every classroom, office, and hallway. It’s not about the title you hold or the authority you wield. It’s about the decisions you make daily, the moments of influence that shape a student’s journey, a department’s future, or an institution’s legacy. Leadership is a shared responsibility. Today, I write to our readers — educators, administrators, researchers, and policymakers — with an update on valuable new ways The Chronicle, as the most trusted voice in higher education, serves leaders like you. |

| | You may already have noticed that some things look a little different at The Chronicle. Improvements at Chronicle.com are moving readers more seamlessly between news, in-depth analyses, career resources, marketing solutions, and so much more.
Reflecting on our identity, offerings, and experience through the lens of service to our readers has led us to a new tagline: Lead With Insight. It captures our core belief that everyone in academe leads in some capacity. It also reflects how we serve our audiences: with independence, intelligence, and innovation. Insight is our differentiator and our hallmark. Our experts, content, and tools help you teach, advance, decide, learn — and lead.
Here are some highlights of our work to help you do all of that. You should expect new announcements and more detailed updates from leaders across The Chronicle in the coming weeks. |
