Dear INSIGHTS community,
Earlier this month, the World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 a pandemic. At this point, the number of coronavirus cases globally have exceeded 470,000.
Countries worldwide have introduced border controls, travel advisories, and even lockdown measures in an attempt to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.
These are tough times, and we hope you and your loved ones are taking care and keeping well.
Singapore takes the health and safety of all individuals here very seriously: over the past two months, the country has progressively introduced new guidelines on travel, safe distancing, and workplace measures for businesses to reduce the risk of imported cases and community transmissions. To better support businesses, Singapore has also launched assistance packages. For the latest updates on precautionary measures and other information relevant to businesses, please refer to EDB’s Advisory on COVID-19.
This month, we have lined up stories to provide you with information, tips and advice on how businesses can respond to the COVID-19 threat. We have included articles on how the world’s top CEOs – of hotels, airlines, banks and tech companies – are handling any impact on their businesses, best practices to navigate supply chain roadblocks, and how consumers are turning to tech in this period of uncertainty.
Finally, we would like to reassure you that Singapore has the resolve and resources to overcome these challenging times. The country is committed to working closely with the business community so that we can, together, emerge even stronger from this crisis.
Stay safe,
EDB INSIGHTS Editorial Team
