Biography

Leah Mitchell is a painter of allegorical portraits and narrative figures. Her work uses symbolism and a sense of humor to look at ideals of feminine beauty, and constructions of female value that are reflected in western art history, pop culture, and Christian iconography. She has a bachelors degree in History and a Masters of Fine arts in Painting. She lives and works in the suburbs of Chicago with her husband, three children and several small winged dinosaurs.
