The sonnet — along with the thread I shared last Friday, on jobs for people that want to take on a tech career but only have a high school education — got me thinking about what tech careers exist for non-technologists. I'm specifically looking for positions in tech that don’t require a coding bootcamp or computer science degree. These are positions that could benefit from programming skills and an understanding of tech, but don’t necessarily require it. UX and product design positions came to mind, as did the "Product Owner" and "Scrum Master" posts highlighted in the thread. Still, all of these positions might be unfamiliar to those not already in the tech ecosystem. So, what other tech-sector positions do you think might fit people without technical backgrounds?
