So… you want to write a book, yes? We are rounding more than the halfway mark in this weirdo called 2020, and the clocking is ticking.
But...
Did you know that 80% of people who want to write a book year never will? I hate to break it to you. but the odds are stacked against you.
If you are anything like I was, the idea for a book has been stirring in you for some time. You've made promises and plans about how "this is finally going to be the time” when you are really going to do it.
Maybe you've even started. And started and started again. But no matter how much willpower you try to muster, it just doesn't happen.
Why?
I believe you fail for two reasons:
First, you are trying to write a book. I know this sounds silly, but you don't write a book by sitting down to write a book.
You do it by creating a consistent habit, writing it one word at a time, one sentence at a time.
I cannot tell you how many writers I've seen fail because they were forcing themselves to write the book. It doesn't work like that. You need better habits, not a stronger will.
The second reason is this: Deep down, you aren't convinced your idea for a book is good enough.
And let me tell you a secret: It's probably not. At least, not yet.
It takes a deep understanding of human behavior to turn an idea that is meaningful to the author into one that will move other people.
This is a concept I've been studying and working with for the past 10 years, as I've written my own bestsellers and helped thousands do the same.
And here's what I can tell you: All writers think they have a good idea for a book, and they're right.
But the problem is good ideas make for bad books.
What you need is an idea that is so interesting people can't help but want to read the book as soon as they hear about it.
It takes practice to make a good idea interesting. I know, because I’ve been there.
I’m a bestselling author of a number of books, but not that long ago I was in your shoes.
I was sitting on my couch, working on a book that I’d been working on for years, and never finishing it.
Each year, I’d set a goal for myself that this year would be the year I wrote a book, but it never happened.
I kept doing the same thing over and over, working so hard to make it happen, but it wasn’t working.
I was stuck in this cycle of saying I was going to do something, working really hard at it, failing, and then starting all over again.
Can you relate?
You agonize over your work, endless tweaking and changing things because it never feels finished or good enough. Or when you finally do have something you’re proud of, you aren’t sure how to market and publish it successfully.
So your book just sits there, collecting dust while you move on to new projects. If that’s you, I have good news for you:
You’re not alone.
I’ve worked with over 20,000 writers in the last few years, and every single one of them has experienced the same thing. They’re great writers with a message to share, but they get stuck in the logistics of actually writing and selling their book.
I was the same when I was just starting out.
Frustrated and discouraged, I looked around at other writers who were publishing their books, getting recognized, and making a living writing and I thought, “What’s wrong with me? What can’t I succeed the way they have?”
I nearly gave up but didn’t am so grateful because soon after the decision to keep going, everything changed: I went from having no audience, no book, no steady income, no traffic, to gaining 10,000 fans in a matter of months, publishing two books, and making more than $150,000 in a year for the first time ever.
It transformed my life, and in this free 90-minute workshop “How to Write a Bestseller”, I’m going to walk you through what I did to successfully write and publish multiple bestselling books.
