Lakers star LeBron James finally closed on a $36.8 million deal to buy a sprawling Beverly Hills compound with a star-studded history. Built in the 1930s, the Mediterrnean-style villa was constructed for Old Hollywood star Charles Boyer and has housed Katharine Hepburn and “The Young and The Restless” creator Lee Phillip Bell. Meanwhile over in Studio City, singer Selena Gomez finally shed her Hampton-style bungalow, having upgraded to a much more lavish Encino manse. Initially put on the market in 2018 for $2.8 million, the cute three-bedroom property ended up selling for a touch under $2.4 million.
In other news, YouTuber Cody Ko bought an eye-catching three-story Venice home, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith is hoping to bag $15 million for his Montauk getaway, hotelier André Balazs is checking out of SoHo, Bitcoin investor Josh Jones bought a $25.8 million mansion from Playboy CEO Ben Kohn, boxer Deontay Wilder is moving into Glendora, “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner bought a roomy Agoura Hills spread, Golden Knights owner Bill Foley purchased a charming Carpinteria manse, “American Horror Story” producer Ryan Murphy sold his Laguna Beach compound, comedian Anjelah Johnson-Reyes and Christian hip hop rapper Manwell Reyes are hoping to get $3.1 million for their Sherman Oaks estate, record producer “D.A. Got That Dope” landed a farmhouse-style Encino home and “Queer Eye” star Bobby Berk put his contemporary Los Feliz residence on the market.
