Please join us on Wednesday, December 15 at noon ET for the virtual lecture Mindfulness as a Support for Healing Conversations and Actions Toward Social Justice and Equity by Professor Rhonda V. Magee of the University of San Francisco. Registration is required for this event. Professor Magee, a professor of law, long-time mindfulness teacher, and scholar of contemplative education, will discuss research on how mindfulness helps people increase emotional resilience, address emotions, choose how to respond to injustice, and change unhelpful habits. She will also discuss an exciting new area of study: external mindfulness and its effects as individuals interact with others, their environments, and the array of challenges facing us all. Professor Magees lecture is part of the Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lecture Series, named for the founding director of the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. This lecture series is supported by the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health with a generous gift from Bernard and Barbro Osher. |
