I was born and raised in the great Pacific Northwest. A lot of my landscapes are inspired by the San Juan Islands, a magical place where I spent a lot of time growing up. My interest in art began at a very young age, drawing illustrations of animals and cartoon characters. In college I studied graphic design, art history, and advertising; then spent 20 years as a singer, studying voice and opera. I am often inspired by music, and find a lot of parallels between art and music, as both embody texture, line, color and harmony in their composition.
