Kim answers your questions

How do I encrypt emails?

Q:

Can a VPN encrypt my emails? I’m using one of Apple's default email providers, Yahoo.

A:

Good question. While a VPN encrypts your online activity, it does not encrypt your emails. If you want a private inbox that puts you first, I recommend StartMail, a sponsor of my national radio show. You can encrypt emails with just one click, set up unlimited alias and store documents in secure vault space.

Try it out for 7 days free. After that, you can get a whopping 50% off by using my link. Just go to StartMail.com/Kim.

Sick of running out of ink

Q:

Do you have any suggestions for a reasonably priced wireless printer that will not run out of ink after 50 pages? Would an inkjet printer be better in the long run and what brand?

A:

I print my radio scripts and notes every week, so that would drive me bonkers. It's the reason I've used Epson EcoTank printers for so long. They have big, easy-to-fill tanks that come with a ridiculous amount of ink. We all know the worst part of owning a printer are the expensive ink cartridges, hence my love for the EcoTank. The quality is fabulous, and you get thousands of prints before you ever need to refill.

Add the Epson EcoTank to your online shopping list at Best Buy, Office Depot, Office Max, Staples and Epson.com/EcoTankKim.

Do I need antivirus software?

Q:

I have Windows Defender enabled. Do I need more protection than that? I get your emails, and I see how sneaky hackers are now. I would hate to fall for something.

A:

You're smart to ask, and you're on the right track. The more we rely on our devices for work, school and personal lives, the more we have to lose. I recommend you do get extra protection, and my recommendation is TotalAV.

TotalAV’s industry-leading security suite is easy to use and offers the best protection in the business. Not only do you get continuous protection from the latest threats, but its AI-driven Web Shield browser extension blocks dangerous websites automatically, and its Junk Cleaner can help quickly clear out your old files.

Right now, get an annual plan of TotalAV Internet Security for only $19 at ProtectWithKim.com. That’s over 85% off the regular price.
