Good morning, and welcome to the January 23 edition of the Saints Insider newsletter. Let's put ourselves in the decision-maker's seat, shall we? 

To trade? Or not to trade?

Last week, our Saints Insider crew sat down for a roundtable discussion focused on the offense — and specifically on what we would do at offensive coordinator, if given the opportunity to make that decision. 

This week, we focused on some other big questions facing the team this offseason, and we start with one of the more interesting questions floating out there: Would you trade Marshon Lattimore if the price was right? 

We did not reach a consensus on the matter, which probably says a lot about the questions and the variables therein. Lattimore is pricey and has not played much the last two years, but when he's on, he's about as good as it gets at a premium position.

Mark at least one name off the Saints' offensive coordinator wish list, as Shane Waldron appears to have a deal in place to join the Bears staff. 

Beat writer Matthew Paras and I put together a handy list of the Saints' known offensive coordinator candidates here, along with some background information on all of them, and we'll update it accordingly as more information is known. 

The common thread: Modern NFL offense. 

NFC South shakeup

Former Saints assistant coach Ryan Nielsen left the organization around this time last year to take a job coordinating the rival Falcons defense. Monday, he accepted a new job — one that will have him facing New Orleans much less frequently.
