Veto session: For the third time in as many years, the Republican-controlled Louisiana Legislature is set to meet in special session to try and override some of the vetoes issued by Gov. John Bel Edwards, politics reporter James Finn writes. One of the big reasons: Edwards' veto of three politically-charged bills targeting LGBTQ+ people.

No names: There are six finalists for the open police chief job in New Orleans. Mayor LaToya Cantrell won’t publicly identify the six, and John Simerman reports that decision has prompted criticism and support as well.
