Liberty Trail to link Revolutionary War sites

The Liberty Trail will span 400 miles from the S.C. coast to the mountains and include 16 park sites and 14 roadside pull-offs. Its goal is to promote the state’s role in helping win the war as well as to drive tourism. Camden battlefield sites will be featured.

Grant funding available to reduce diesel engine emissions

The Diesel Emissions Reduction Act grants are intended to help reduce diesel emissions by paying for upgrades or replacement of older diesel engines. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Dec. 13 for primary consideration.

Richland County offers grant workshops

The free November workshops will offer information on 3 major grant programs offered by Richland County and will teach participants how to use the ZoomGrant application program.

6 Midlands counties designated drought disaster areas

The 6 counties included in the drought disaster designation are Bamberg, Calhoun, Kershaw, Lexington, Orangeburg and Richland. The USDA declaration allows farmers in those counties and counties who share their borders to apply for qualified emergency loans.

Wells Fargo first corporate supporter of memorial

Wells Fargo is the first corporation to support the construction of the Emanuel Nine Memorial. The company recently granted $500,000 to the Mother Emanuel Memorial Foundation Board.
