Xpress Reviews WEB-FIRST REVIEWS OF BOOKS AND MEDIA Rene Denfeld's The Child Finder is this week's starred fiction title. "In her sophomore novel, Denfeld (The Enchanted) has created a glittering gem of a story—part mystery, part fairy tale, and all white-knuckled, edge-of-your-seat thriller.... Strongly recommended for readers who enjoy the work of authors such as Jane Hamilton and M.L. Stedman (The Light Between Oceans)." In nonfiction, Jennifer’s Way Kitchen: Easy Allergen-Free, Anti-Inflammatory Recipes for a Delicious Life, by Jennifer Esposito with Eve Adamson, is "recommended for public libraries seeking diet and health-related cookbooks." The Green Hand and Other Stories, by Nicole Claveloux with Edith Zha, is one of two starred graphic novels this week. "Claveloux (Grabote) and Zha’s (coauthor, La Maison sur la digue) explicitly adult pop-art fantasia delivers emotional insight and imaginative visuals that take the driver’s seat away from the strong logic of the narrative and enjoyably amble readers toward the byways of the subconscious with hauntingly powerful designs and sagacious observation." And in e-originals, "sports romance novel lovers will truly enjoy" book three of Elley Arden's "Arlington Aces" series, The Perfect Game, a "tale of a strong female who dominates in a male sport."
