LifePoint's Top Executive to Retire This Year

LifePoint Health Chairman and CEO Bill Carpenter III will retire this year after the for-profit hospital chain completes a planned merger, the company announced Wednesday.

Carpenter, a founding employee at LifePoint, has been CEO since 2006.

Carpenter plans to retire after overseeing the completion of LifePoint's merger with RCCH HealthCare Partners.

LifePoint President and COO David Dill will take Carpenter's place.
