Integrated Lighting Campaign Launches in June

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Interior Lighting Campaign is undergoing a fresh launch as the Integrated Lighting Campaign in June 2020.

The program’s core goal of market transformation is the same, with many of the same services and benefits to participants, but the promoted suite of technologies is now going beyond LED adoption toward integrated systems.

The Lighting Controls Association is proud to support this program as a member of its Organizing Committee and an inaugural Supporter.

Lighting Controls Association Announces New Course on Automatic Plug Load Control

The Lighting Controls Association (LCA) now offers EE202: Automatic Plug Load Control as a new free course in its popular Education Express program. Controlling plug loads such as task lighting, coffeemakers, and vending machines can generate 15-50% energy savings and is a natural extension for lighting control, using the same strategies as used for general lighting.

Authored by Craig DiLouie, LC, CLCP, education director for the Lighting Controls Association, EE202: Automatic Plug Load Control provides an overview of approaches used to automatically control plug loads in commercial buildings. Topics include code requirements, strategies, devices, system integration, and key decision-making points.

This course is registered with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) for Learning Units (LU)/Health, Safety, Welfare (HSW) credits, and the National Council on Quality in the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) for Lighting Education Units (LEUs). It is also required reading to prepare for NALMCO’s Certified Lighting Controls Professional (CLCP) certification exam.
