Japanese researchers led by Osaka University have published the discovery of a family of significantly more efficient organic, rare-metal-free, phosphorescent materials: thienyl diketones. Quantas Adding Circadian Lighting To Long-Haul Flights

Quantas Airlines will receive its first delivery of ultra long-haul aircrafts in mid-2026. The new planes, dubbed Project Sunrise, will enable flights from Sydney to London and New York. Among many new features, the planes will be equipped with a new circadian lighting system. The airline claims the system will help passengers arrive awake, alert, and refreshed at their destination.
