While doing research for a recent post, I stumbled over a proposal for a linear city by a Montreal architect 25 years ago. I think the concept makes so much sense. You can walk from your home to the train, to the country, to the mall, to the rooftop promenade and then just go forever. The architect says it would use 95% less land and nobody would ever need a car. What's not to love about that?
