Good evening,

Good evening,

It was slow-going in deals on Wednesday.

Investors returned from the long weekend to see confession season in full swing on the ASX, starring MinRes and A2Milk/Synlait.

In deals, meal delivery service Marley Spoon confirmed Street Talk’s report of a bid (via an SPAC, as it turns out), and Eildon Capital knocked back Fred Woollard’s bid as expected, but chunky ones were largely missing in action.

The hot topic of the day among corporate advisory types was Miles Advisory, which has signed a strategic tie up with Chicago-based mid-market investment bank Lincoln International.

Miles has been around since 2002 and seems to have found a like-minded but a more global partner in Lincoln. The deal comes after Grant Samuel flirted with Spain’s Alantra, and surely had industry peers weighing their own prospects of international attention.

Elsewhere, we spotted some soul-searching under way at Windlab, which is owned 75:25 by Andrew Forrest and Federation Asset Management. PwC was parading fire alarm business Romteck, and start-up Clear Dynamics was firing staff to manage its cash burn amid a raising.

And last, Wesfarmers’ old hedge enemy rival Harvest Lane AM was creeping up the register at Silk Laser Australia.
