Throughout her years as a nurse and then busy mother of four, Linda could not ignore her love for art. She developed an active commissioned pastel portrait business and received several local awards including Best of Show for her paintings. Linda's entry into the versatile medium of oil began in 2004. With this new medium she began to express her fascination with light and her love for the beauty of creation through vivid landscapes and still life paintings, while continuing her portrait and figurative work. Oil is now her primary medium. Linda has attended workshops with such accomplished artists as Daniel Greene, Daniel Keys, Elizabeth Robbins, Morgan Samuel Price, Joseph McGurl, along with an online mentoring course with the great Kenn Backhaus. These have been instrumental in helping Linda move toward her goal of revealing beauty and truth through art to the observers. In 2021, Linda's painting, "A Little Walk Under a Big Sky", received first place at the "Light Chasers Plein Air Painters of the Sun Coast" 10th Annual Members Show. Additionally, her still-life painting of a Japanese doll was selected in the Oil Painters of America's 2015 Salon Show Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils. She was selected as Finalist- Outstanding Acrylic in the April 2010 FineArtViews Painting Competition. Linda has received numerous FineArtViews FAV 15 awards for her paintings over the years. Linda has been married for over 42 years to her best friend and high school sweetheart, and has six delightful "grands". Born and raised in Florida, she enjoys music, traveling, hiking, and kayaking with her husband, always with a keen eye for new marvels of God's creativity that can be captured in some small way on canvas.
