BoldBrush Recommends: Lisa DeBaetsGet Notified When Lisa Posts New Art BiographyI used to be a storm chaser which involved driving really fast. Now I only fly by the seat of my pants. (Shh don't tell) I began painting shortly after moving to the Seattle area from the Midwest, and art has made a major impact in my life. When I started taking weekly representational watercolor classes, it brought out my enjoyment of being with people. I also discovered that I have passion for COLOR most of all and dove head first into abstraction. I experimented with different media, and learned how they interact and move together on different surfaces. Paper towels and squirt bottles are my best friends. Besides people. I still love people and believe that is what you see when you view my work. I'm inspired by the beauty of God's creation, my husband's joyful smile, and the adoration in my little dog's eyes. BIO Originally from Indiana, I always expressed myself creatively as a kid. After I got married, I tore apart my silk bridal bouquet to learn how it was put together and began making wedding flowers for my friends. I soon got a job at a wonderful flower shop and created fresh and silk floral designs of every kind. I had never dreamt of painting until I went to a sip and paint in Woodinville and my heart started singing. I have been honored to become a juried member of the prestigious Women Painters of Washington, and winning awards in many local, and International Exhibitions. My work can be seen in multiple Northwest Galleries, including Women Painters of Washington Gallery, Art Gallery of Snovalley and Fogue Studios and Gallery .
