Gathering for the BIEN Congress in Lisbon

Dear friends!

Before this year is over, we'd like to invite you to have a brief look at the various exciting activities of the basic income movement in Europe since the Summer.
We were especially pleased to work with the Basic Income Earth Network (BIEN) this year at the 17th BIEN Congress 'Implementing Basic Income' in Lisbon. Over 500 people from around the world attended, and several UBIE members made presentations on topics as diverse as Basic Income political parties and Agrarian Basic Income. We also sponsored a workshop on how activists and researchers can cooperate better. Chair Dániel Fehér gave a report of UBIE's latest activities to the BIEN affiliates plenary.

Have a look below for details about UBIE's General Assembly and Create-athon in Lisbon and some other interesting updates about our activities. The next UBIE meeting will be in 23-25 March 2018, in Gothenberg, Sweden - more details to follow soon!
We are also pleased to announce a conference, 'Eurodividend and EU Basic Income for Children: Models to deepen European Solidarity' which will take place 26/27 April 2018 in Berlin.
2017 has been a busy year for UBIE, with fruitful meetings in London, Ljubljana, and Lisbon, deepening our contacts with members, developing new and older projects and spreading the word about the potential of basic income to make a difference to the lives of all Europeans. All this with no outside funding and entirely voluntary labour. If you can afford it,we would very much appreciate  your contribution via a one-off payment or regular donation so we can do even more in 2018!
Yours unconditionally,

The Board of Unconditional Basic Income Europe:
Anja Askeland, Aurélie Hampel, Dániel Fehér, Lena Stark & Ulrich Schachtschneider

Support UBIE now!

UBIE relies entirely on volunteers, but we need to pay for our website, newsletter and other forms of communication. We also need to subsidise the travel of activists to our meetings and other events, to make sure we represent UBI movements throughout Europe. Please give what you can!
