During CP's "Unmasking Gender Ideology" event last month, Summit Ministries President Jeff Myers warned that the push to use trans pronouns is part of a larger effort to separate language from reality. "You'll find that the very people who insist you use language in a particular way, that you use their chosen pronouns, ... if you don't do it, you will be called all kinds of names—evil, bigoted, transphobic," the author cautioned. He pushed back on the suggestion that trans identity and language boils down to partisan politics, noting that just 9% of Americans believe gender transition procedures on young children are acceptable. A petition submitted to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration last week by Students for Life of America and 150 student groups nationwide contends that approval of the abortion pill must be revoked "light of the FDA's failure to comply with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) when taking these actions." The petition accuses the FDA of failing to assess the environmental impact of women using pills to end their pregnancies at home and flushing their unborn children's remains down the toilet when it approved the abortion pill in 2000. First Baptist Atlanta reflected on the "anointing" God placed on the life of Charles Stanley on Sunday, with Senior Pastor Anthony George sharing how the late pastor exemplified how God can use even the most broken of vessels for His glory. The church sang a number of Stanley's favorite hymns, offered a prayer thanking God for Stanley's life and ministry, and George preached a sermon based on Jeremiah 1:4-10 to highlight the traits of those called and anointed by God. Fifty-five congregations in Oklahoma have disaffiliated from The United Methodist Church, joining a growing list of churches to depart the Protestant denomination amid its schism over homosexuality. The figure represents over 10% of the 425 member churches of the UMC Oklahoma Conference. Read more.

Dockery has been unanimously elected as the new president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary after serving as interim president since the resignation of former President Adam Greenway last year. Paige Patterson and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary were dismissed from a 2017 lawsuit filed by Gerald Duane Rollins alleging that former Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee member Paul Pressler raped Rollins over 24 years, beginning when Rollins was just 14 years old. Patterson and SWBTS reportedly reached a settlement with Rollins. Read more.

After years with the network, Fox News issued a surprise announcement that it has parted ways with Tucker Carlson, one of the highest-rate opinion hosts on cable television. A series of rotating hosts will take over Carlson's "Tucker Carlson Tonight" slot, which was one of the top-rated primetime shows on Fox News. The decision comes approximately a week after the network settled a lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million over the network’s 2020 election coverage.
