Good morning, Marketer, be a little extra nice to yourself today.

We’re in the middle of updating our Email Marketing Periodic Table (you’ll be hearing more about it, trust me). So, last week I got to listen to three true experts – Ryan Phelan, Kath Pay and Michael Barber – do a deep, deep dive on the subject. If you’d told 20-year-old me that this would be a great time … he’d have looked at you and said, “What’s email?”

It was a great time, though. Maybe you have to have my particular type of geekiness, but listening to them question nomenclature and taxonomies and spin out new ideas was really inspiring. We’ve got another session coming up and I wish you could all join me. In a way you will, when you get to read our new finished product.

“I wonder if the new designs for the Platinum Jubilee are reflective of consumer sentiment this year. We’re going through turbulent times. Perhaps some of the brands are playing it just a little bit safer.” – Amy Dobson, curator of the London Museum of Brands’ “Jubilation: 200 Years of Royal Souvenirs”, regarding the more muted colors on products being sold for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
