There have been challenges for us all recently, but the best therapy for me is to paint up a storm! To help keep spirits high and those brushes moving, I've been sharing live painting videos on Facebook, and I'll share a second one tonight. You're invited to join in the fun, or just sit back and relax and watch the color unfold. I can't think of a better way to spend time together long-distance from the comfort of your own studio. PS: On a personal note, thank you to so many of you who reached out to me last week after I shared the memory of a very tough time in my art journey on my weekly blog. From dark times, good things arise. Having to begin my art business again from scratch was the reason The Joyful Brush, my monthly online class, was created.
My joy, and my dream, to give high quality online lessons to artists on a budget was born. Thanks to my very talented team and the angels above, what seemed like the end was, in fact, the beginning.
I knew long ago that, most of all, I wanted to offer online classes for my older students, retired women on fixed incomes. The Joyful Brush has become a daily and vital connecting point for painters around the world. These artists are more than students and friends, they have become family. In a new world of social distancing, I'm fairly certain higher powers are watching over us, lifting us, and guiding us, helping us find new ways to connect and care for one another when we need it most.

Seven years ago, I quit my corporate job as the director of a national magazine to become a full time artist and art teacher. One morning I had an epiphany: Life is too short not to follow your bliss. I never dreamed that painting would someday allow me to travel around the world.
In the past year, I've worked with Disney and painted on national TV! Every day I wake up and my heart surges with happiness. Yes I am an artist. Yes, this is what I do for a living. Yes, I am a lucky girl. Thank you to each of you who have walked with me on this path. Whatever your tomorrow brings, may it be filled with color!
