Fresh Prince fans rejoice: Airbnb is giving groups of Los Angeles County residents the opportunity to book five nights in Will Smith’s mansion in October for only $30 a night. The price references the show’s 30th anniversary, which will also be celebrated in an HBO Max reunion. Brandweek Lift Opens Doors for Over 100 Minority-Owned Agencies and Solution Firms

Brandweek kicked off Monday, filled with extraordinary digital experiences that brought the annual event right to marketers’ homes. Diversity, equity and inclusion were recurring themes of Day 1, which proved to be serendipitous considering that Adweek took measures to ensure that attendees themselves represented diverse communities as well. Adweek invited more than 100 agencies, marketing and production firms to attend for free through Brandweek Lift, which aimed to get diverse companies led by people from underrepresented communities into the conversation.

The lineup: We also collected those agencies into a directory so that those seeking more diverse vendors can easily find them.

Also from Brandweek Day 1:

  • Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms shared how she worked with brands to lead the city through two crises—the pandemic and ongoing police reform.
  • P&G has been leading the charge on closing the inequality gap for years, and chief brand officer Marc Pritchard powerfully explained how to create systemic change within your marketing and office.
  • Three Brand Genius honorees—Kofi Amoo-Gottfried of Doordash, Andrea Brimmerof Ally Bank and Sadira Furlow of Frito-Lay got together to discuss leadership insights and best practices for delivering measurable results.

If you missed the first day of Brandweek but you want to get in on the action, it's not too late! Take 25% off the full ticket price with code 4DAYSBW to join four days of inspiration, advice and experiences.

After 18 Years at One Agency, Global Creative Icon Eva Santos Is Planning Her Next Step

Eva Santos has been a pillar at Omnicom-owned Proximity for 18 years, a tenure that has earned her a reputation as one of Spain’s—and the world’s—top creative women leaders and agency execs. But now she’s setting forth, and she hasn’t decided where she’s heading next. She said she may seek out an agency that meets her goals, or she might launch her own shop. Either way, we talked to her about the industry and the way it has evolved over her long career.

Read what she had to say: “The worst inequalities are the invisible ones, and when I started in creativity, nobody talked about why all creative directors were men.”

Reddit Considers New Political Ads Policy

Reddit has a reputation for being a contentious place in terms of political discussion, and it’s trying something a bit unusual by social networking standards for political ads this year. It’s trying to decentralize the conversation by forcing users who want to comment on an ad to share it in a subreddit before they can, and the crosspost will show where all it’s posted and it’s upvote/downvote counts. But Redditors aren’t thrilled with the development, especially because it puts the onus on unpaid moderators to manage the discussion.

Here’s what moderators and users have to say about the development.
