A break from cold, stormy weather. Highs for the rest of this week will hover in the upper 30s in the Twin Cities, with no major winter storm expected in the future. Southeastern Minnesota could see a mix of light rain and snow tomorrow -- with a couple of inches by Friday. These stunning photos of Minnesota in the ‘50s went unseen for decades. After being largely forgotten for more than a quarter-century in a farm attic, a trove of images taken by David Tewes in the 1940s and 1950s are on display in a new museum exhibit in Winona. "People email me saying, 'I grew up in Minnesota and seeing these pictures really brings me back to my childhood,'” said Chris Finke, who found the images with his wife. More Minnesota communities getting broadband help as state works toward universal access. Thirty projects will share in about $23 million in state broadband aid. State law calls for all homes and businesses to have access to internet with speeds of 25 megabits per second for downloads and three megabits per second for uploads by 2022. Legislators ask Sherburne County to be ‘sanctuary’ from new gun laws. Several Minnesota legislators are asking Sherburne County to become a “Second Amendment sanctuary” by prohibiting the enforcement of new gun control measures they say would violate the Constitution. Many leaders of hundreds of cities and counties across the country have already vowed not to enforce gun control measures they view as an infringement on the right to bear arms.
