Dear John,
Ananda’s goal has always been to reach out in divine friendship through sharing inspiration and the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda.
This year we invite you to practice, celebrate and enjoy divine friendship with us. What is a divine friend? What does divine friendship look like?
Swami Kriyananda, the founder of Ananda, wrote, “Imagine someone who never judges, who loves you despite your faults, who sees you in terms of your highest spiritual potential, and is totally committed to helping you realize that potential. Imagine someone who gives you strength and understanding, seeking nothing in return, who offers, but never imposes, his views. Imagine someone who is always forgiving, respectful, and loving, even under the most adverse circumstances.”
Living as a divine friend in this way is an inspiration for all. How can we achieve this? Through prayer, daily meditations, practicing affirmations and serving others with love, kindness, patience, and compassion—and by seeing God in everyone. |
