For more than two decades, Library Journal’s Day of Dialog has been the most anticipated librarian-only gathering of the year. Now it’s gone digital and is free to attend! The next all-day event is scheduled for September 23 and will feature a close-up look at the biggest forthcoming books from winter/spring 2022.

Fiction panels range from “Four Top Mystery Debuts” and two thriller panels (“Visceral Thrills” and “Thrills To Ponder”) to panels like “Rebuilding Family,” “The Consequences of Conflict,” and “Aiming To Heal” that blend literary and popular fiction in an examination of key themes. Nonfiction embraces both history, ranging from the medieval era to current Asian American popular culture, and social justice issues. Featured authors range from Emily St. John Mandel (Sea of Tranquility, Knopf) and Diana Abu-Jaber (Fencing with the King, Norton) to Jodi Picoult (Wish You Were Here, Ballantine) and Wajahat Ali (Go Back to Where You Came From, Norton)

And you still get to dialog by visiting virtual booths, talking with authors, and networking with colleagues.

We are anticipating an unprecedented number of library and education professionals to attend this event, so you may find the environment or live sessions become full during the day.

But fear not! All sessions and author chats will be available for viewing on-demand within an hour of their initial broadcast, and the entire event will be available on-demand until December 23, 2021.
