The public are being urged to help shape the first-ever local food strategy produced by the Scottish Government.

The consultation covers a range of issues including promoting local produce, encouraging people to grow their own food and making quality local food and drink available to all.

EU Citizens Staying in Scotland - Advice for Employers and Landlords

The Scottish Government has published guidance and a toolkit for EU citizens who wish to stay in Scotland, as well as specific advice for their employers and landlords on their legal obligations and EU citizens’ rights.

The guidance covers right to works checks, employing EU, EEA and Swiss Citizens and types of status of EU citizens who arrived in Scotland by 31st December 2020

 In July 2020, Paul moved into new premises in St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy, where he operates a retail coffee bean shop and can focus on the wholesale side of the business supplying coffee shops, restaurants and hotels with bespoke premium coffee blends.

New Campaign to Support Mental Wellbeing


Fife Health & Social Care Partnership’s Workplace Team has developed a Workforce Mental Wellbeing & Suicide Prevention campaign, which will take place from 6th to 10th September 2021.

The focus will be to encourage Fife workplaces to realise that #ItsEveryonesJob to look out for one another’s mental health and wellbeing. Fife Health & Social Care Partnership’s Workplace Team plans to encourage employers and workers in Fife to have healthy conversations around mental health, raise awareness of the range of support available, and encourage those in need of help to access it.

Buffalo Farm Starts Producing Scotland’s First Buffalo Mozzarella

After years of planning, The Buffalo Farm located just outside Kirkcaldy, has started producing Scotland’s first Buffalo Mozzarella cheese!
 
Steve Mitchell, who launched the business back in 2005, has assembled what he describes as a world-class team to produce a world-class Scottish Buffalo Mozzarella, strengthening his farming team, bringing in expert cheesemaking skills and bolstering his commercial operations.

Female Entrepreneurs Reimagine the High Street

A group of Scottish female entrepreneurs will shine a light on ‘the future of the High Street’ when they take up residence within Edinburgh’s newest, prestigious retail destination.

Almost twenty businesses, including representation from Fife, and supported by Women’s Business Station will set up shop within the Sook unit of St James Quarter from 10am until 5pm, Monday 23rd August until Sunday 5th September 2021.

Investing in the Tourism Sector  

A multi-million pound package of support has been invested to help tourism and hospitality businesses recover from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The support is part of a wider £129 million investment in the sector which has been particularly hard hit by the pandemic. The package of support includes:

  • £4 million for VisitScotland to deliver the Days Out scheme which will help support the tourism sector throughout the year
  • £3 million for domestic marketing highlighting Scotland as an attractive year-round destination
