Organizers of the National Cherry Blossom Festival announced Wednesday that the cherry blossoms are expected to reach peak bloom between March 14 and March 17 after a mild winter. As a result of the early bloom, the start of the nearly month-long festival will be March 15, five days earlier than planned.
