South Carolina unemployment claims rise by 650 in week

For the week ending Sept. 19, 4,933 initial claims were filed in South Carolina, an increase from the 4,283 filed the previous week. Greenville County had 450 claims, followed by Richland County with 435.

S.C. Ports see further recovery amid pandemic

With August volumes trending upward, S.C. Ports Authority CEO Jim Newsome said the numbers reflect the port’s best year-over-year month since March, when the pandemic began affecting global supply chains.
