NI Covid-19 deaths continue to fall shows latest data from NISRA
View email online | | | | | Apr 23, 2021 | | | | | | Dear reader For many thousands of people, one of the most frustrating aspects of lockdown in Northern Ireland has been the closure of hairdressers. My own lockdown locks have become ridiculous, but for those lucky enough to secure an appointment today, the agonising four-month wait that has lasted since before Christmas is finally over. Close contact services such as hair salons, barbers, beauty parlours and tattooists all resumed business on Friday. It’s certainly of no surprise that queues were spotted at many hairdressers from early morning as customers counted down to the shutters coming up. The steps out of lockdown will continue next week when non-essential retail will reopen, again after a closure stretching back to before Christmas. These moves reflect the brightening picture in relation to Covid-19 in Northern Ireland ,as reflected in the latest figures released by NISRA (Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency). The figures show that 10 deaths involving Covid-19 occurred between April 10 and 16.
